Getting There

Drive 11 miles, then turn right onto Dubinky Well Road (BLM 137). Continue for 7.5 miles to Spring Canyon Point Road and turn left. After 3 miles, you’ll see a small parking area and trailhead sign for Dellenbaugh Tunnel on the right.

The dirt roads can be rough, especially after rain, so a high-clearance vehicle is recommended. There are no services out here — bring water and be prepared for a remote desert environment.

On the Trail

The trail begins with a gentle descent across slickrock and desert scrub. Cairns mark the route as it winds toward the edge of a sandstone bench. The terrain is mostly open, so keep an eye on the cairns and avoid hiking during the heat of the day.

As you approach the tunnel, you’ll begin to see the arch-like opening in the rock face ahead. The tunnel itself is about 75 feet long and large enough to walk through comfortably. Sunlight filters in from both sides, creating dramatic light contrasts that make for excellent photos.
